Meaningful journeys are never meant to be easy; I learned that at an early age when I joined the Scout movement back in Cali, Colombia.
Growing up in Colombia, a country who witnessed the violence from drug Lords like Pablo Escobar and most recently of by the FARC and other guerrilla movements was not easy. Unable to make a difference and facing threats again my life I was forced to leave the country and moved to Canada.
I stepped in a foreign land that later became my home; I had to start all over again, relearning the basics of life. Learning to speak the language, adapting to a new culture, respecting the different tradition and behaviors.
I courageously took the challenges and opportunities and pushed as hard as I was able to be every day no matter what day of the week it was. After one and half year I was able to get my first job in IT working on Helpdesk of a big software development company that specialized on online gaming.
The following five years I worked hard on becoming an expert in IT/Datacenters and 2007, I became a consultant managing Datacenter projects and infrastructure.
Entrepreneurship is in my blood and eventually, I started running my own ventures in Real Estate ( Full disclosure, I’m licensed as Realtor) and supporting small business incorporating technology into their sales strategy.
Through these years of juggling the corporate realm and performing in the real estate world, I finally proceed with my vision of becoming a Social Entrepreneur. I funded LOOTkia Inc., a micro-lending innovation that would benefit a population which suffers the abuse of shark lenders.
